Company formation

This step was remarkably easy.   I accessed the Companies House website (https://www.gov.uk/register-a-company-online) and entered the required details:

  • Company name
  • Registered office address
  • Shareholders and shares subscribed for
  • Directors

Paid the £15 fee using my personal credit card and making a note to claim the money back from the company once it was formed.

The next day the company was incorporated and I received the certificate of incorporation by email.

I had spent some time working on the objects clause for the company not realising that it is no longer a requirement.  If no objects are specified the company can perform any legal business.

Then I downloaded a copy of the model articles (http://www.companieshouse.gov.uk/about/modelArticles/modelArticles.shtml).  The articles of association are the rules that govern how the company is run.
